Frequently Asked Questions


What forms must be filled out and signed prior to camp?

SPORT PHYSICAL signed by a doctor must accompany the MEDICAL RELEASE and LIABILITY WAIVER and the HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION form. Please bring these forms with you upon check-in the day of camp. Campers will not be allowed to participate in camp without them, NO EXCEPTIONS.

What should I bring to camp?


    For Residential Campers:
        - Four-page medical and liability forms, sport physical no exceptions* 
        - Bedding (sleeping bag or twin xl sheets and blanket), including pillows
        - Personal toiletry items: towel, washcloth, plastic cup, soap, deodorant, tooth brush/paste
        - Alarm clock

    You may want to bring:
        - Electric Fan (residence hall rooms are NOT air conditioned!)
        - Camera
        - Lip balm
        - Sunglasses
        - Hat

    WHAT NOT TO BRING
    Leave valuable items at home! Ex: stereos, ipods, video games, televisions, jewelry. 

    The University of Michigan assumes no responsibility for personal property, stolen or lost items. 

    FOR ALL CAMPERS: 

        - Four-page medical and liability forms, sport physical. No exceptions!
        - Comfortable clothing suitable for summer softball practice
        - Softball gear: fielder's glove, cleats, bat, helmet, batting gloves, catching gear, etc.

*We ask that each camper write their name and information on all of their equipment to avoid loss or misplacement.*


If I attended 2013 Winter Camps, do I need to bring the medical forms with me to 2013 Summer Camps?
Yes. Physicals dated within one year of camp are valid and will be accepted; each camper will be responsible for providing all medical consent and physical forms the day of camp.

If I want to attend more than one 2013 Summer Camps, do I need to bring medical forms for each day?
No. Once your medical consent and physical forms are presented at one summer camp, they will be valid for all 2013 Summer Camps.


How do I Register?

Go to the Camp Info Page and click the "Click HERE to register" link below the camp you're interested in.

Camp registrations may also be mailed with full payment by check to "Michigan Softball Camps 1000 S. State Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48109". Please note which camp's payments are made payable to:

Summer Camp- Carol Hutchins, LLC
Adv. Hitting Camp- Jennifer Brundage, LLC
Pitching/Catching Camp- Jennifer Brundage, LLC

While mail-in registrations are accepted, our registration is first-come first-serve and is confirmed by payment received; spots may sell out online before we receive your registration via mail. If this is the case, you will be placed on our waiting list.

How do I Pay?

Secure online payments are available via Credit Card or E-Check (an E-Check allows you to Register online using your checking account by simply typing in your Account Number and Routing Number from the bottom of your check).

How may I be placed on a wait list if camp is full?
Please email Erin McLaughlin at etmclaug@umich.edu. We will not open any additional spots for a full camp; rather, if a spot becomes available due to a cancellation, we would alert the next person on the wait list via email.

What is your Refund Policy?

Summer Camp- a non-refundable $100 deposit is required to secure your spot at camp. Absolutely no refunds will be offered for cancellations after June 20th.

Advanced Hitting Camp & Pitching/ Catching Camp- Absolutely no refunds will be offered for cancellations after June 27th.

Where is check-in?

All campers will check in at Alumni Field.

Can I check in late at summer camp?
Yes. Campers who arrive after 5:30pm may check in with Erin McLaughlin at Alumni Field between 6-8:00pm on Sunday, June 23rd. Resident campers arriving to Ann Arbor after 8:00pm on Sunday should check in directly at the residence hall and must check in with camp counselors upon arrival to camp on Monday morning. Commuters who are unable to make it to Sunday's session may check in first thing on Monday morning.

Where will the resident campers be staying?
All resident campers will stay in West Quadrangle residence hall on The University of Michigan Central Campus. The address is 500 Thompson Street and is a short walk to Alumni Field.

Can commuter campers eat in the residence halls?
Yes. Commuter campers may purchase lunch and/or dinner in the residence hall by using the following link: http://www.housing.umich.edu/conferences/summer-programs/athletic-campers

Can resident campers request a roommate in the residence hall?
Yes. All roommate requests and arrangements will be handled by The University of Michigan Housing staff at camp check-in on Sunday, June 23rd.

Where can I buy Michigan Softball gear?
While Michigan Softball will not have gear for sale at camp, we suggest you make a trip to The Mden, the official apparel store of Michigan Athletics.

Are parents allowed to stay and watch?

Yes. We ask that all parents remain at a distance from the playing field to avoid any injury. Thank you.
